Bramina began her Krav Maga journey in 2019 with no prior fight or martial arts experience. Her interest in Krav Maga was initially piqued by its reputation as an accessible self defence system designed to be efficient and effective. This interest was sealed after experiencing her first class. The discipline’s focus on situational awareness, problem solving for realistic situations, and building mental toughness and resilience were all aspects that strongly resonated with her.
After working hard for several years as a dedicated student to develop her skills, she became a Krav Maga Instructor under Krav Maga Master Gheorghe Husar in 2022. Her contributions to Spartans Academy so far include writing articles, teaching adult and children’s self defence classes, and assisting in holding seminars for children in schools, corporations, and women-only groups.
In the present day, Bramina continues to work towards perpetually improving her knowledge and skills in Krav Maga: “There’s always something to learn from every single person in the room.” Motivated by the belief that everyone – no matter their age, gender, size, background, or physical/mental limitations – has the right to know how to defend themselves, she is passionate about empowering others and making self-defence accessible for all. She approaches her role as an instructor as an avenue to help others realise that they are more capable than they might expect, and hope they can draw confidence from this realisation.
