Spartans Academy of Krav Maga, working with Dr Itay Gil for 5 years. Our Chief Instructor, Master Gheorghe Husar is Dr Itay Gil\’s partner and UK representative. Gheorghe is Itay Gil\’s right hand man. If Gil needs another like-minded, skilled individual on one of his projects, he calls Husar. Krav Maga with Dr Itay Gil, directly from the source of the original military-made Krav Maga but with some much need tweaks and updates, made for today\’s world and used in combat to save countless lives.

\”In October we had the great opportunity of learning the best in Krav Maga from Itay Gil.
Instructors and students from the UK and Europe attended this event and what a blast it was. We spent 8hrs learning how to deal with multiple attackers and active shooter scenarios.
Suffice to say we all got a few bruises and were a little sore the next day but it was well worth it.
The scenarios we work on are based on real life threats which we try to keep as realistic as possible. There is no BS or ego\’s allowed. You make mistakes but you learn from them and make yourself & your fellow students better each time.
At Spartans we strive to continue to evolve our Krav Maga to keep it up to date with evolving threats as complacency breeds mistakes and false confidence.

Master Itay Gil is an IDF Captain and served in Israel’s special forces paratroops brigade.

After completing his compulsory service, Itay was chosen to join Israel’s elite counter-terror and hostage rescue commando unit, \”Yamam\”. He became an operative, later instructor and currently consultant.
Consequently, Itay Gil became the chief close-quarter combat instructor for the unit. From 1992-1997, Capt. Gil was the executive director of all training programs for the Israel Border Police as well as the undercover police intelligence unit. During this period, he directed training programs for 5000 policemen and security personnel each year.
Itay Gil has adapted more than 37 years of conflicts and Krav Maga combat study to meet the needs of the real-life situations he faced in his fourteen years of active duty and more than 20 years in the special forces commando regiment as a captain.
Itay Gil continues to serve in the IDF reserves where he is Captain and senior combat instructor and strategic mission planner for an elite undercover counter-terrorism team.
He was responsible for the training for the security of the Israeli President for 10 years and have trained the security of the Ukrainian President on several occasions, as well as HRT, FBI, SWAT, Spetsnaz Alpha Group among others.
Itay featured on History Channels “Human Weapon” series, BBC Special Forces “Ultimate Hell Week” and is recognized by Al Jazeera as a world leading aviation security expert.
